Shelley attended the University of Akron and has continued to develop additional administrative skills. In 2005 Shelley received the Certified Professional Secretary and Certified Administrative Professional designations from the International Association of Administrative Professionals. Shelley is also a Notary Public.

Shelley is actively involved in the community serving as Treasurer of Habitat for Humanity of Medina County, Inc. and Treasurer of the Medina County Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals.
